POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Manage Production Maintenance Team in the setup, repair, preventative maintenance and improvement of semi-automated and/or automated production assembly equipment, and facilities systems.
KEY RESPSONIBILITIES:
- Supervise and lead a team of 9 technicians for a two shift operation, continually developing them as they work to consistently achieve performance objectives in a safe work environment.
- Actively participate in Safety Team to improve the safety performance of the plant.
- Implement equipment modifications in response to safety or quality concerns, product revisions, and efficiency improvement initiatives.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and operation of all production equipment and plant systems.
- Organize and drive initiatives for continuous improvement, new projects, preventive maintenance, and standardization.
- Maintain a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, supplies and maintenance history of plant equipment.
- Maintain required spare parts inventory. Research and select alternate machine components to keep equipment up-to-date.
- Actively manage department activities to deliver against cost objectives.
- Participate in “hands-on” work as needed.
- Working with HR, assist with interviewing, training employees, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word processing software; Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). SAP and some experience with some form of eMaintenance systems desirable. Familiarity with AutoCAD.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts using standard mathematical practices – addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, etc.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in 2 year technical program required.
- Engineering degree preferred.
- Three (3) to five (5) years' supervisory experience in a high speed manufacturing environment having exposure to the repair and maintenance of manufacturing and facility equipment.
- Demonstrated track record of making improvements to production equipment and facilities systems.
- OSHA Training.
- Must be certified forklift trainer or complete training within 180 days of hire.
- Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing principles, workflow and operational procedures.
- PLC experience
- Strong skills in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, controls, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience working with computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, supplies and maintenance history of plant equipment.
- Proficient in Safety, environment, waste (Hazmat), used oil, TPM, and 5S programs.
